Now offering in-home lifestyle newborn sessions!

I'm excited to announce I will now be offering newborn photo shoots in the comfort of your own home. Let me come to you!  I will still be doing my regular sessions in my home studio in Filer. This is a NEW/different option for parents who prefer a more natural, less posed session to capture baby's first days at home. Please book with me early as I take a very limited number of sessions per month. 

Rather than posed (baby in a bucket) newborn shots, I love to capture the relationship between the new baby and his/her parents and siblings.  I will also take individual photographs of the baby and capture some great detail shots.

The session fee is $300 and includes up to 2 hours of shooting time. ***Sessions outside of Filer or Twin Falls may require an extra travel fee. Price includes images delivered via online gallery with print release.

FAQ's

What can I do to prepare for the session?

This is such a special time in your family’s life.  It will be tough, but try to relax! Most families like to shoot in their master bedroom and nursery. Together we'll pick a room with lots of windows and natural light. Don/t worry about your house being a mess—you just had a baby!   All you need to do to prepare is open the blinds/curtains to let in as much light as possible.  Also, turn up the heat!  Babies tend to be most comfortable at the shoot if they’re nice and warm.  If you’re sweating, it’s probably perfect! It’s usually a good idea to try and feed your baby right before the session so they’re sleepy and content!  As far as clothing goes, keep it simple. Throw in a little color if you’d like, but skip the busy patterns. A simple white onesie for baby is great.

{SESSION PRICES}

Your session fee includes a disc with a variety of edited photos, full print rights, and my time to shoot and edit your photos.  Please allow 2-3 weeks for your disc to be ready. I only take a limited number of sessions so book your date in advance to ensure availability.  You can book your newborn session at any point of your pregnancy. The earlier the better!

I prefer to photograph newborns when they are 5-10 days old. Please contact me while you are pregnant and we can schedule a tentative date based on your due date. We will finalize the date when baby arrives. I like to keep the studio very calm and peaceful during newborn sessions. Please try to keep your audience to a minimum. If you plan to bring siblings, please bring an additional parent/grandparent to help watch them. I generally provide all hats/headbands, props ect but if you have something special you'd like to incorporate into the session feel free to bring it. Session can include a few pictures with parents free of charge. Please add $25 for each additional sibling in a newborn session, which includes 1-2 pictures of them together and some individual pictures of them in one outfit.

My favorite time to photograph babies is between 6-8 months old. It's best when they can sit up on their own but are not yet mobile. Also, a cake smash is a fun way to celebrate and remember baby's 1st birthday. Studio sessions are also great for yearly portraits of little ones of all ages.

~ 1-2 Hour Outdoor Session
~ Up to 7 people {+$25 for each additional person}
~ CD containing the best 20+ photos {edited in color and black and white} with print rights

Family sessions include group family portraits, individual children portraits, parent portraits, and any other combination you'd like.

Terms and Conditions…
A non-refundable $50 Deposit is required to reserve an appointment and will be applied towards your session fee. The remaining balance is due at time of service, unless other prior arrangements have been made. deposit can be transferred to another day, but is non-refundable if session in canceled.  Please contact me within 48 hours of service to reschedule. All outdoor sessions are weather pending, and will be rescheduled in case of inclement weather. Prices are subject to change without notice.

SURPRISE PROPOSAL

I'm a little backwards in posting this.... but I also had the opportunity to secretly photograph Brody's romantic surprise proposal for Jess! It was seriously the sweetest thing I've ever seen! She was completely suprised!

With a little help from family and friends Brody was able to give Jess a special day that she will never forget!

Sarah and I set up a romantic candle lit dinner for 2 on a platform over looking the Snake River Canyon at sunset. It was a little chilly that day but the view was amazing!!

Brody told her they were just going for a walk along the canyon trail. Once they got to the look out he had her peek over the ledge at the road below where Brett and Brinley had written "MARRY ME JESS". He got down on one knee and proposed while we captured her reaction from behind some sagebrush without her even knowing we were there!! She was completely shocked and thrilled! Of course she said YES!! Once we came out from hiding she was so happy to know how much thought Brody put into making this moment so special for her. She is one lucky girl!! Congrats you guys!! So happy we could be part of your special day and cature these precious moments for you to rememer forever!!

{Brody & Jess} Twin Falls Engagement Session

I was so excited when my brother in law and his fiance asked me to take their engagement photos! My dad helped me find this old barn that I am now in LOVE with!!!

I think we got some great shots of these two love birds before a huge storm blew in and we had to run for cover. Their wedding is in one month and I couldn't be more excited for them!
